I visited home to Iowa early July and took a bunch of “okay” photos with my new fancy camera. I’m still figuring out how to actually get subjects in focus– I know this camera can do A LOT more than what you’re seeing in my photos now. But, it’s a fun process.
I took some photos of the frogs (American Bullfrogs?) at my dad’s pond.
I like this one because it looks like a crocodile. Heh. I didn’t notice the spider on the stick to the left until after I took the photos. How fun. I wonder if it was interested in those (what I presume) are frog eggs. . . ?

This was a different frog in another location nearby. It’s too bad, because if I were better with the camera these really would’ve been so much better of photos. I really like how you can see its body right under the surface of the water here.
I’m really just so artistic with that framing. Still need to learn a lot on how to focus correctly, though. I also need to learn how to edit photos afterwards to get everything just right.
I’m very happy with the camera’s capabilities, and I think my favorite part is just how true the colors are to reality. It seems like phones’ cameras just never get it right, even if you have the settings on “natural” or whatever. They always distort the colors in some way. This camera really just captures them realistically while maintaining their vibrancy too.
